About IBEW Local 965

This is the official website of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 965.  This website is intended to share information with the more than 1000 members of Local Union 965 and encourage non-union workers to seek information about being organized.

IBEW Local Union 965, strategically positioned throughout South-Central and Central Wisconsin, proudly represents a diverse array of workers. Our members are integral to the operations of several key organizations including Alliant Energy, Adams-Columbia Electric Cooperative, Central Wisconsin Electric Cooperative, Everbrite, Inc. in Pardeeville, Richland Electric Cooperative, Rock Energy Cooperative, and Union Financial Advisors, all of which are headquartered in Wisconsin.

Established on June 13, 1937, IBEW Local Union 965 initially focused on representing workers in the utility industry. Over the years, our scope has expanded to encompass Utility, Cooperative, Manufacturing, and Professional sectors. We are continually on the lookout for employees who are interested in organizing to collectively advocate for improved wages, benefits, and working conditions. For non-unionized workers seeking union representation, our office is readily available to provide guidance and support in your organizing efforts.

It is important to note that our office does not offer an apprenticeship program, nor do we maintain books for signing purposes. If you are inside Wireman or looking for that type of work, IBEW Local 159 represents the Madison Area. If you are looking for outside construction (i.e. Line work, Line Clearance, or other related contractor work), IBEW 2150 (Milwaukee, WI) represents the east side of the state and IBEW 953 (Eau Claire, WI) represents the west side of the state.
